Christmas Shopping Tips
How to Survive the Christmas Stress
This article is to help you stay calm and safe during the Christmas shopping season.
If the snow is deterring you from hitting the shops for the onslaught of Christmas shopping (and all the stress this brings) then why not do what I do? Shop online from the comfort of your own home?
First of all, you can see exactly what you've bought (and when it will be delivered) so you do not over buy (you know where you forget what you have bought a person and then buy them another present! Oh yes... I have done this before). Secondly, you know how much you have spent and it will stop you from overspending!
Top Tips for Online Christmas Shopping
Here are my top tips for Christmas shopping online:
- Secure Payments - lots of people feel that shopping online is not as safe as going to the shops. However wandering around the shops with lots of bags can also attract unwanted attention. If you are using a smaller store (like Feel Good Therapies) rather then the big names like John Lewis and Tesco, check how they accept payment. We use Paypal as our clients have the choice of paying with their Paypal account or using their debit/credit card.
- Use your credit card - you get more protection (up to the value of £100) if using your credit card. Money saving Expert is a good website which has more information on this
- Delivery - you might think that it will be more hassle to collect parcels from the post office if they arrive and you are at work. Well why not get them delivered to work? Check with your reception/boss that this is okay and that way you do not have the hassle of trudging to the post office each time.
- Send Gift Direct - most companies allow you to send a gift direct. We would happily send out our meditation CDs or gift vouchers direct to the lucky recipient. And if you purchase either of these options from us by no later than 21st December, we will offer free gift wrapping too!
- wrapping it up - if you (unlike me) actually enjoy wrapping presents, then why not turn it into an enjoyable event? Get everything read - paper, scissors, tape, tags and presents. Put on some Christmassy music, a cup of tea (or mulled wine) and mince pie at scheduled breaks and off you go....
- Delivering Presents - this can be just as stressful as buying presents! Everyone starts to rush around desperate to see each other before Christmas. Why not have an 'open house' where friends turn up, and you swap presents. Offer them the proverbial mince pie, cup of tea and/or mulled wine and they can turn up when they can whilst you stay put in the warmth!
If you are stuck for ideas on what to get those stressed out people in your life - we offer:
- meditation CDs for all levels,
- vouchers for workshops or therapies.
Simply have a look at our Online Shop or email us if you have any special requests. PS - don't forget to put your own requests on Santa's shopping list too!
Free Wrapping!!
Buy any of our meditation CDs or gift vouchers and we will wrap it for you and send direct to the person (or you). Another easy way to take the strain out of shopping. This offer ends midnight 20th December.
