Children and Bach Flower Remedies
by Lorraine Murray
Children's Health and Wellbeing
Bach Flower Remedies were researched and pioneered by the Late Dr Bach in the 1930s. The most commonly known form of these remedies is Rescue Remedy which is usually taken to help with extreme anxiety and stress.
Children's Stress - Bach Flowers
Growing up used to be a care free experience for many children, however in today's world it can be very stressful. Children seem to grow up much more quickly and the increased incidents of bullying, education stress and not feeling good enough all help to fuel our children (and teenagers) tantrums. As the Bach Flowers are specifically organised around different emotions, they can be very useful in helping to take the sting out of strong emotions.
Children's Safety - Bach Flowers
Usually it is the case that complementary therapies cannot be used with children (or must be used with caution). However with Bach Flower Remedies there are no such contraindications. If your child takes the remedy it will either work or it won't - with no side effects. This makes Bach flowers one of the safest approaches for any adult or parent trying to help their children cope.
Easy to Use
Bach Flower Remedies are very easy to use and can be dropped into any liquid drink that your child enjoys. Usually a maximum of 6 remedies are chosen, used in a tincture and dropped into the drink which they consume as usual.
Bach Flower Remedies can also be used in the bath and with itchy skin or irritations can be a pleasant and easy way to help give relief.
Teenage Years - Bach Flower Remedies
The hormonal (and emotional) changes children go trhough as they turn into teenagers can drive some parents mad. Some of the Bach flower remedies work very effectively with apathy, anger or fear. The adults can also take remedies at this challenging time to help with tolerance, patience and enthusiasm!
How to Use Bach Flower Remedies
We are running a course for adults on how to use Bach Flower Remedies. This level 1 course gives you a good grounding in all the Bach flower remedies (38 remedies) and how to use them at home. The tutor, Roushan Martens, is an experienced therapist who can advise you on the safest ways to use Bach Flower Remedies for you and your children. She is passionate about using Bach Flower Remedies to help ease emotional stress.
