Karuna Reiki - a personal journey

"I had heard about Karuna Reiki before (in addition to many different types of Reiki that were springing up) but had not felt drawn to it. In fact, having studied to be a Usui Reiki Teacher, I felt that I did not need to study any more types of Reiki, as I assumed that Usui Reiki would continue to teach me and help me develop spiritually.

Then one day, I found myself sitting at the PC and before I knew it, I had booked the course! I was not sure exactly why I had booked the course, it just did not make logical sense. It was not until many months had passed that I realised that it was not so that I could add another string to my bow, but the course was simply for me. To help me become spiritually stronger within myself.

Karuna Reiki and Intuition

When I practise healing with Usui Reiki, I am quite clairvoyant (having been taught to be a spiritual medium many years before) so I 'see' lots with my intuition which guides me during the healing. When I was attuned to Karuna Reiki, it was as if this had been switched off. It did not return for a year and during that time I had to learn how to trust my intuition in different ways.

Karuna Reiki - influences

I also found that it started to influence the other work I do, especially teaching meditation. I decided to run a second meditation class (thinking that it would simply be a practise class) but after reflection and meditation, realised that it was to be an Archangel Meditation Course. I knew very little about the Archangels so was rather bemused by this. However I followed my intuition and set up the Archangel Meditation Courses which have been running for quite a while - and they are very, very healing. The energy is amazing. I realised after re-reading my Karuna Reiki manual that Karuna Reiki brings you into contact with Archangel energy! My questions were answered!

Karuna Reiki Guides

I have noticed in healing that the energy is quite different from Usui Reiki. That's not to say that Usui Reiki is any less, but Karuna Reiki brings in a quality that feels totally immersed in compassion and love. Working with my Karuna Reiki Guides (initially Quan Yin and now includes Mother Mary and St Francis) I feel truly blessed to work with this amazing healing energy.

Karuna Reiki - Taking the Step

I appreciate that it is not the right step for everyone. I think whoever decides to take the step of learning Karuna Reiki is not doing it just for the benefit of their students and clients, but really for themselves. Only when we learn to completely accept ourselves in every way, can we feel whole."
